A stunning centrepiece for any garden table or dining table, the Salad Plant puts a creative twist on your crispy Iceberg lettuce. The designers Black and Blum, have won numerous awards for their beautiful and unique designs, so it’s easy to see why the Salad Plant is set to make fresh food fun!The Salad Plant is designed to look like a leafy green plant in a Plastic Cutlery plant pot. The leafy green stalks are actually shaped perfectly to use as a salad serving spoon and fork. The servers measure approximately 42 cm x 6 cm x 0.5 cm so there’ll be no more messing about with standard table spoons and forks!
Totally wrong. It kills me that often health food shops with eco ethos’ are the worst for not supplying reusable stuff. This ain’t fringe thinking any more. France has just banned plastic cutlery, cups and plates. (So you know, 150 single-use cups are thrown away every second in France.) They’re aiming to cut landfill waste in half by 2025 and reduce greenhouse emissions 40 per cent by 2030.
Don’t use one! 90 per cent of the debris found on Sydney beaches is plastic water bottles and straws. These pieces can get so tiny that they are then ingested by marine life. Bigger marine life comes along and gobbles up the prey that has just swallowed a chunk of plastic, and so it makes its way up the food chain.
By then, humans were consuming at least one million pounds of the material each year, and newspapers were reporting that elephants would soon become extinct if that pace continued. And so the race to come up with a new material began. Over the course of several decades, chemists from Europe and US searched for solutions. After years of trial and error, they discovered plastic as we know it today, and by the beginning of the 20th century, people could buy hair combs and clothes with buttons that were not made of ivory.
